    Reviews

This was a amazing cut to The Dark Side of The Moon. There were more synchs than I've ever seen! You can't get this with a straight synch alone! - Diamond Dave NY, NY

The Dark Side of the Rainbow: Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. The film version of "The Wizard of Oz." Two profoundly successful pieces of pop art you would think are completely unrelated. Yet there exists a connection - no, really a synchronicity - between the two that escapes logic or understanding. - Charles Savage

Pink Floyd's masterpiece Dark Side of the Moon (DSotM) is played while watching the 1939 film classic The Wizard of Oz (TWoO), several connections or synchronicities between the two appear. These connections included the lyrics, the song titles, the mood and timing of the music, and even the cover art. I was extremely impressed with how well the synchronicities lasted through the entire album. - J.K.W London, UK

The Dark Side of The Moon

The Dark Side of the Moon is Pink Floyd's ninth album and is a single extended piece rather than a collection of songs. It seems to deal primarily with the fleetingness and depravity of human life; hardly the commonplace subject matter of rock. Released on March 24, 1973, it ushered in an era of album-oriented rock and transformed Pink Floyd from English acid-rock conceptualists to a goliath of the international super-league. It enjoyed unprecedented chart longevity, especially in America, where it was the group's first album to breach the Top 40.

    The Wizard of OZ

Since The Wizard of OZ was first released in 1939. It was nominated for six Academy Awards including Best Picture in 1939. Young Dorothy Gale (Judy Garland), her dog, Toto, and her three companions on the yellow brick road to Oz--the Tin Man (Jack Haley), the Cowardly Lion (Bert Lahr), and the Scarecrow (Ray Bolger)--have become pop-culture icons and central figures in the legacy of fantasy for children. As the Wicked Witch who covets Dorothy's enchanted ruby slippers, Margaret Hamilton has had the singular honor of scaring the wits out of children for more than six decades.
